viennacontemporary 2017

Our #artbookstore was at viennacontemporary for the second time. This year in cooperation with Harpune Verlag, 100 Häuser, Salon für Kunstbuch and Edition Krill. We were absolutely enjoying ourselves. Thank you for visiting us!

Our pretty cool booth was designed by Christa Stürzlinger and conveniently situated right next to the entrance.

The huge artwork you can see in the background is by Josef Zekoff.

Harpune books and "Substance Of We Feeling" by Essachai Vow

Essachai Vow takes its name from the fictitious stone-age language that Anthony Burgess created for the movie Quest for Fire (Jean-Jacques Annaud, 1981) and translates to “hunger". "Substance of We Feeling" combines 10 songs that share a fondness for idiosyncratic compositions and influences from Jazz, Krautrock, Low-Fi and Dream Pop. The music was originally inspired by the snowy mountains of Montafon, Austria, where Christian Kosmas Mayer and Alexander Wolff have worked on an opening performance for their joint exhibition. More than one year and several recording sessions in Berlin and Vienna later, Substance of We Feeling unfolds an instrumental sound that might best be described as cinematic and has a timeless feel.

Essachai Vow are Christian Kosmas Mayer and Alexander Wolff. "Substance of We Feeling" has a photograph by renowned artists Clegg & Guttmann on its cover and was mixed by Alexander Paulick from the German band Kreidler.

We are looking forward to next year!
