About the product

The line and its serial repetition are the central motifs of the creative work of artist Haleh Redjaian. In her works on paper, on hand-woven rugs and in large-scale installations, lines that have been drawn, woven or strung within the space appear time and again. The resulting grids, patterns and structures show a strictly geometrical order, but their subtle irregularity, blurring or blotchiness mean they nevertheless fail to hide the manual process with which they have been created. The resulting unending surfaces and repetitions require the observers to concentrate their gaze.

This book, which bears the title “in sequence,” documents Haleh Redjaian’s exhibition at Bregenzer Kunstverein in 2016, in which 15 works were presented in an exhibition space covering 300m2. The exhibits are accompanied by texts in the catalog, which outline the specific aspects of the work in each case. The publication is supplemented by lists of works covering Redjaian’s rug creations and spatial installations.
