About the product

Galerie Rudolf Springer was the only gallery in Berlin to exist continuously from the time of its foundation in 1948 until the fall of the Berlin Wall, and for several decades was an important part of artistic exchange: Many internationally known artists had their first shows in Berlin at exhibitions hosted by the gallery. Springer, who came from a large extended family in publishing, founded the publishing house Gachnang & Springer together with the artist and art publisher Johannes Gachnang in 1983.

ZADIK collects, collates and digitizes the estates of important art-industry pioneers in a special archive. ZADIK’s 27th sediment is dedicated to Rudolf Springer and his famous gallery.
