Angela Glajcar's sculptural material is paper, which she masterfully combines to create sculptures and installations ranging from intimate to monumental in scale. “Her works play masterly with lightness and heaviness, balance and tension, calm and movement, light and shadow, body and contour, the part and the whole. To the happy circumstance that Glajcar’s solo museum presentations in Austria took place at two locations we owe a special contribution to the catalogue. The text by Gerda Ridler builds on the first exhibition “Dreamcatcher | Traumfänger”, which she herself curated in the Lower Austrian State Gallery in Krems, and skilfully draws a connection to the project “FLASHBACK” at Kunstraum Dornbirn.

Elisabeth von Samsonow’s essay affords a knowledgeable theoretical investigation and contextualization of Glajcar’s art through an in-depth and comparative medial perspective; an approach to the sensual effect of the works and to the phenomenon of the hole as a central element of the installations.
