The monograph “Works on Paper” appears in the frame of the homonymous solo exhibition at Prisma Gallery in Bolzano, South Tyrol. Subdividing into four categories this book represents Christian Niccoli's works on paper. Formally it consists of drawings always made in the same manner: pencil and / or colored pencils on paper in the format 40 x 30 cm. With unrestrained honesty and self-critical amusement, Niccoli throws all conventions and stereotypes overboard. His preferred topic is the self-portrait, similar to a costume rental shop, he slips into different roles for this. In a humorous and subtle way, he not only does not take himself as seriously as an artist but also questions social conventions.
