Claudia Comte has long since developed from a shooting star on the Swiss art scene into an internationally sought-after artist. Claudia Comte complements the transgression and connection of various techniques and disciplines by juxtaposing materials such as wood and marble, which she processes in traditional sculptural fashion, as well as industrially manufactured elements.
The catalog “The Sea of Darkness” contains a fiery warning from the American marine biologist Ayana E. Johnson to protect the oceans, an interview with the artist Claudia Comte and a detailed documentation of the exhibition “The Sea of Darkness” in the Kunstraum Dornbirn. Claudia Comte created an installation that immersed visitors in an artificial landscape: undulations on the ceiling were resumed in the arrangement of the 40 specially made sculptures.
