“#fuckreality” is the title of an exhibition project that developed through a collaboration between the Digital Art Department of the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich. In their concept, curators Alexandra Schantl and Martin Kusch examine the technological possibilities of new interactive media technologies such as full-dome immersion, 3D printing and virtual or augmented reality and take a look at ways they can be combined with art and culture. Observers are confronted with different, expanded realities and realms of perception, and they can interact freely with their surroundings with the help of head-mounted displays. In the way they construct reality, the works by the artists presented tackle the problems of illusion and questions regarding the reality content of images, with Marian Essl, Elif and Wolfgang Fiel, Thomas Hochwallner, Johannes Hucek, Margarete Jahrmann, Patrick K.-H., Nicolaj Kirisits, Stefan Krische, Martin Kusch/kondition pluriel, kondition pluriel, Bobby Rajesh Malhotra, Tina Muliar, Patrícia J.Reis, Ruth Schnell, Franz Schubert, The (new) Constellation, Norbert Unfug, Peter Várnai and Litto/Daniela Weiss all represented. The politically and socially critical works explore human perception and its reliability.
