Johanna Jaeger works with photography in a broader sense. An experimental use of different analogue and digital photo techniques characterize her approach to the medium. Her monograph Developing Horizon presents staged images, serial photography, site-specific installations, projections, photograms and concrete photographs. It encompasses works from a period of ten years.
Jaeger‘s motifs are taken from her surroundings and her travels. Modified by the artist, they examine the possibilities and presentation modes of photography and the expectations attached to those.
The publication is accompanied by an essay by the art critic Jens Asthoff, as well as an interview by curator and author Christin Müller. Brief explanatory texts in the Index additionally give an insight into the conceptual background of each work
