The Kiefer Hablitzel Art Prize has been awarded to Swiss artists since 1951. In 2018, the name was changed to the Kiefer Hablitzel I Göhner Art Prize in order to indicate the important cooperation with the Ernst Göhner Foundation. The Kiefer Hablitzel I Göhner Art Prize functions both as an accolade and a stipend, and it supports young artists aged under 30 living in Switzerland, whose art has really caught the eye. In 2018, following a one-year selection process involving a total of 179 applicants, the young artists Martina Mächler, Marie Matusz, Valentina Minnig, Mia Sanchez, Dorian Sari, Rafal Skoczek and Axelle Stiefel were presented with the award. Their works address a variety of topics, while their forms of expression range from monumental installations to videos, interactive sound works and site-specific interventions.
