The volume, Flussrand Zwei – Uferlos, is the final part of a trilogy published between 2021 and 2025. It contains essays on topics such as the management of natural resources, social hierarchies, and the pressures of success. The unifying elements in this volume, as in all three, are the convergence of text and image, collage techniques applied to both language and text, and reflections on the nature of contingency.
The literary sources for text collages, drawings, and sculptures evolve across the three volumes. They range from canonical 19th-century authors such as Arthur Schopenhauer to writers like Donna Haraway and Yōko Tawada, culminating in literary works published in 2023. As these sources shift, so too do the content and forms of expression in the drawings, collages, and sculptures.
With Flussrand Zwei – Uferlos, a journey through literature and cultural history comes to an end—a journey that began in 2015 with the cycle of drawings and text collages Apostasie – Das Abendland kommt aus dem Morgenland.
