„Kärnten is a mere placeholder, nothing more. It could just as well be Burgenland. Or Vienna. It doesn’t matter. Kärnten is only a name."
The art book Caspar David Kärnten came to life in 2020, during the ongoing corona crisis. Inspired by four journeys to Austria’s secluded countryside, Martin Grandits approaches Carinthia and its people artistically, historically and most personally. With allusive concepts, works and words he—nonchalantly as ever—captures the facets and spirit of Austria’s most southern state.
