unvollkommen (incomplete) is both title and thematic focus of Lisa Busche’s publication, which resembles a workbook. It presents her works of art, which do not have one final condition, but often several that are only visible temporarily and in situ. Studio insights are mixed with exhibition views, handwritten quotes, which are understood as drawings, with photography, which may have acted as inspiration. This collection of image material is accompanied by two newly written texts, which appear on half pages in a rhythm determined by the binding, encountering and interlocking with the respective pages of images by chance. The feel of the book also has something open, vulnerable and incomplete about it. It does not lead the viewer and reader from A to B, but rather invites them to leaf through, look and read, as well as to continue the thought within the work: where does it begin, where does it end?
