A lot of shame and ascriptions are related to the naked body, even though we all have it. It is a home to our self. Looking at itself and the body of others is and always has been of interest.
In her work “Your body is yours. Take it ”, Julia Fuchs deals with the questioning and breaking of binary gender attributions and heteronormative power systems. The models stage themselves in the mirror and the photographer remains visible in the mirror. The work is accompanied by texts by Andrea Braidt, Julia Fuchs, Elisabeth Priedl, Ruby Sircar, Annie Sprinkle, Beth Stevens, Christopher Wurmdobler, who deal with the topic of nudes and queer bodies.
