About the product

André Butzer is showing a selection of his works on the first floor of the Neues Schloss (New Castle) in Ingolstadt. The impressive rooms also contain selected exhibits from the museum, which were chosen together with the artist.

The exhibition at the Bayerisches Armeemuseum (Bavarian Army Museum) is entitled “...und sah den Frieden des Himmels” ( ... and saw the peace of Heaven). The title is a quote taken from “Hyperion” by Friedrich Hölderlin, whose writings André Butzer has addressed and identified with since the early days of his artistic activity. The exhibited paintings by André Butzer span the last 10 to 15 years. With the aid of a relatively small number of his works, the show succeeds in illustrating the inner cohesion of Butzer’s creative output within and beyond this period. The publication of the same name accompanies the exhibition.
