About the product

The title is a quotation from “Hyperion” by Friedrich Hölderlin, a poem that has been a major influence on André Butzer, right from the start of his career. It describes the exhibition in a surprising way. The Butzer pictures on show at the Bavarian Military Museum stretch out over the first floor of Neues Schloss in Ingolstadt, covering a period that spans the past 10-15 years. The imposing galleries are also home to a number of choice pieces from the museum’s own collection, selected in collaboration with the artist. The combination is unusual, humorous and shows the premises in a new light. The publication documents this wonderful exhibition.
